Redistricting authority:
U.S. Congressional Districts – Legislative. The Senate Committee on Privileges & Elections, the House Committee on Privileges & Elections have jurisdiction over redistricting and reapportionment. The committees hold hearings and develop legislation. They have until the end of the General Assembly session in 2011 to redistrict, so that House elections can take place in 2011. The Governor has veto power over both the congressional and legislative plans.
