Redistricting authority:
U.S. Congressional Districts – Legislative. The Subcommittee on Redistricting (appointed in 2011 by the Legislative Coordinating Commission, the coordinating commission created to
coordinate the legislative activities of the Senate and House of representatives. The President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House alternate annually as chair) draws up a plan and presents it to the rest of the Legislature. Once the Legislature passes a plan, it is delivered to the Secretary of State. The Governor can veto a plan.
