Redistricting
Redistricting authority:
U.S. Congressional Districts – Legislative. The Governor has veto power over the congressional plan.
State Legislative Districts – Legislative/Apportionment Commission. If the Oklahoma
Legislature fails to redistrict its state legislative districts within the given timeline (90 days after convening first regular session following decennial census), an Apportionment Commission
determines legislative redistricting. The Apportionment Commission is composed of the
Attorney General, state treasurer and superintendent of public instruction. The Governor has veto
power over the legislative plan.
